Tyler McKinnon, PA-C, MPAS
Born and raised in Northern Utah, Tyler McKinnon attended both Weber State and Utah State universities to pursue a Biochemistry major and a minor in Spanish. Afterward, he went to Pacific University in Oregon, earning a Master’s in Physician Assistant studies. He is a Diplomat Fellow with the Society for Dermatology Physician Assistants. Tyler holds several achievements including helping the Dermatology Clinic of Idaho be named Idaho’s Best Dermatologist in 2021.
Tyler McKinnon is passionate about all things skin, from the detection and surgical treatment of skin cancer to helping people improve common skin concerns like acne, psoriasis, and eczema. He also enjoys education: helping his dermatology patients choose the right products, treatments, and procedures that will improve skin health and appearance.
Outside of his practice, you can find Tyler building and designing custom motorcycles, enjoying the Utah snow, playing soccer, or spending time with his family. Tyler is fluent in Spanish.

Mary Beth Callahan
Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Dermatology Tech®
Mary Beth has been a Certified Medical Assistant since 1997 and she received an Associate’s Degree in Science from WSU. She began her career working in OB/GYN and over the past 10 years she has been happily working in Dermatology. Mary Beth is known for her positive rapport with patients and says patient interaction is the best part of her job.
When Mary Beth is not working, you can find her chasing around her 3 kids, coaching her son’s soccer team, walking or hiking with her Australian Shepherd, and traveling. A fun fact about Mary Beth is that she has lived in Utah her entire life and has never tried skiing or snowboarding. “I’m the New Yorker who’s never been to the Empire State Building.”
MaKena Wright
MaKena is a first-time Medical Assistant at Dermatology West. In high school, she was a valedictorian, varsity track athlete, and the editor-in-chief of the school’s yearbook. She recently moved back to Utah to attend Weber State University after graduating high school in California. As a freshman majoring in medical microbiology, she has hopes of one day becoming a Physician Assistant or a Certified Aesthetician. She has a passion for all things health and wellness and loves to learn about anything and everything.
MaKena has a very bright personality that our patients enjoy. When she’s not working or attending class, you can find her out line dancing with friends, spending time with dogs at the local animal shelter, or taking spontaneous midnight road trips to neighboring states.
